DESIGN NATURALLY | A CASE STUDY

This plaster piece represents a three-dimensional study of a concept radio, conceived based on the theory of Design Naturally. The theory was the central focus of my master’s thesis in Industrial Design, completed in 2012. It aimed to present a set of principles for product designers to address the intricacies inherent in complex forms.
The Theory of Design Naturally advocates for a less reductionist approach to understanding the natural forms found in nature. This proposal strives to broaden the perspectives of product designers, encouraging them to embrace the richness and complexity observed in nature.
The case study showcased here serves as an illustration of the theory’s potential to push the boundaries of the modernistic design language in terms of form, function, and aesthetics.
