This durational performance piece spans two years, meticulously documenting the transformation of a single piece of cotton fabric through a sequence of actions. Inspired by the philosophies of traditional crafts, particularly Chinese and Japanese practices, the work emphasizes the interplay of time, environment, and human intervention in shaping materials for specific purposes.

The process, recorded in detail, involved soaking the fabric in creeks, wrapping it with plants, exposing it to natural elements like rain, snow, and sunlight, and subjecting it to techniques like boiling, brushing, and pressing. Each action was carefully noted, reflecting an intense focus on what these interactions—both deliberate and incidental—do to the fabric over time.

By combining methods rooted in traditional craftsmanship with a methodical, durational approach, the piece invites viewers to reflect on the patience, care, and unpredictability that shape not just materials but our relationship with them.
