One day, turning the pages of a book, I came across a picture of a pyramid, and it stayed with me. Its symmetry and its form were extraordinary, as though I were seeing such a thing for the first time. The image set off a series of sketches built around it.

For the composition I imagined a mirror at the top of the pyramid, connecting the work to what was around it and drawing the viewer in. To hold the arrangement together, a long piece of wood hangs from a metal rod, balancing the vertical against the horizontal.
